Bridges-build a bridge not a wall

The Goltzsch Viaduct is a railway bridge and is the largest bridge

built solely of bricks in the world.  At one time, it was the tallest railway bridge.

It is in the Reichenbach Valley and was built between 1846 and 1851.

It is 78 meters high and 574 meters long.  It is said to have 26,021,000 bricks.

During the latter days of World War II, Hitler intended to

blow up the bridge with explosives, but the war ended before this was done.

Lunch with Elder Grantham, Andersen and Meibos

Elder Freckleton

After our inspection, we took them to lunch at a Doner place close to their apartment.  A Doner is served as a sandwich with thinly sliced meat tucked into freshly baked bread with a bunch of fresh vegetables like lettuce, tomatoes, and onions and then some sauce drizzled on top.  The ones these Elder’s got also had French fries included in the sandwich.  I got a yummy cheese pizza for me!

Then, we walked across the street to an ice cream shop and had an ice cream cone.  It was a beautiful sunny day and perfect for ice cream.
