Festival of Lights Week

We love Fruhstucks Brotchen!

It is a pack of 6 rolls that is shelf stable.  We cook them for
6 minutes and eat the bread/rolls hot.  So yummy!

Every Sunday night we have "Power Meeting" by Zoom.
All the missionaries in the Germany Berlin Mission join.
We have a thought, talk about goals, and have some short
presentations.  This week I will present a health message on
Upper Respiratory Infections and what to do about them.

Sister Stephens, Elder Sparks, and Elder Turley
We were saying goodbye to Elder Sparks who left for
home on September 30.  He was a great missionary and
so much fun to be around.  We will miss him.

Sister Stephens, Sister Reilly, and Sister Robins
Sister Reilly has finished her mission on September 11
and returned home to Hyrum, Utah.  I will definitely
have her over for dinner once we return home.

We help with apartment inspections every 6 weeks.  These
darling girls dejunked and filled 6 bags full of excess stuff.

This is the AP's apartment located one floor above the
Mission Offices so we see this group a lot.

Elder Koshar, and Elder Daniels.

This is the group from the apartment in the basement of
the Mission Offices.  Elder Stephens, Sister Stephens,
Elder Freckleton, Elder Turley, and Elder Bryant.

We were able to teach a lesson with the Sister Missionaries.
Mustafa Jameel had been baptized a month ago and
this was a post-baptism lesson.  He asked a lot of great
questions on Prophets and Priesthood.

For dinner one night, we made English Muffin Mini Pizza's
in our toaster oven.

Grocery Shopping:  We learned that we have to
bag our own groceries in bags that we provide.  The
first time, we tried to bag the groceries as they were scanned.
We got way behind and held up the line.  We learned
that we just put the unbagged groceries back in our
grocery cart and then take the cart out to the car and
bag them there.  We also had to learn how to put a coin
in the lock to get a grocery cart out.  Then, we return the cart
and "eject" our coin.

We ate at a little cafe around the corner from our
apartment.  I saw a picture of this spaghetti on the
menu and thought it looked delicious so that is what
I ordered.  When it came out from the kitchen, it
was actually ICE CREAM with strawberry sauce.  It
was super good but not much of a supper.

We took the train to downtown Berlin on Friday night
to enjoy the Festival of Lights.

This is the radio tower and world clock.  The world
clock was referenced in one of the Bourne Identity Movies.

Gary had a burger-his first one in a while.
He mostly eats chicken and fish.

The Berlin Radio Tower is a former broadcasting
tower in Berlin.  It was built in 1926 and remains
a protected monument.  Here it is lit up for the Festival.
